Improper operation or improper storage can cause the conductive silver paste to deteriorate, directly affecting the conductivity of the conductive silver paste. So, how can we determine if the conductive silver paste begins to show deteriorating effects from the surface?
From the perspective of color:Is it too dark and too yellow? If so, it means it wasn't sealed properly. If exposed to excessively high or low temperatures for a long time, it will change color and oxidize due to direct contact with molecules in the air. Please store it strictly according to the manufacturer's instructions at a temperature below 10 degrees.
From the perspective of smell:The normal smell of silver paste is mild and not pungent. If it is otherwise, it may be due to the addition of diluents or other materials, causing a physical change in the two resins. To ensure that the conductive silver paste you are going to store is the original without additives, try to use it up within one week; otherwise, it will affect the conductivity of the product.
From the perspective of viscosity:We can also distinguish whether the silver paste is compatible and if the viscosity is normal by simply stirring. Generally, when the silver paste is taken out of the refrigerator, a layer of oily substance separates from the surface (this can be solved by stirring more), or it is too dry and cannot be stirred (adding 3%-5% of a special diluent and stirring the silver paste can solve the problem). These are some self-protection measures of the resin in the silver paste.
The following method can be used to measure the resistance of the silver paste:The normal resistance is 0.01 ohms. Of course, it is also possible that the resistance results vary due to an excessively high or low curing temperature. Whether or not a diluent is added will directly affect the resistance. Try to measure the correct resistance value using standard curing conditions and use this as the standard resistance value. This will help you accurately determine whether the silver paste can be used normally in the future.
Try to confirm whether the conductive silver paste material undergoes any quality changes after each long-term storage before putting it into production. Proceed only if there are no issues, to avoid incurring immeasurable losses.
